I asked her to redesign the upstairs of my home so that the whole family could have a more enjoyable time in the kids’ bedrooms. Some furniture got moved, but mostly the redesign required shopping for accessories and placement of decorative items, like lamps and wall art.
The reason this project was successful is because Virginia respected my desire for the children to not be playing and sleeping in a retail display. We made the most of what was already in the house before buying new things, and she connected decorative items that I didn't see before as having similar qualities. She made the most of my budget by checking in frequently while she was shopping, always purchasing things I approved of.
I felt great about the time and money spent making the kids rooms more thoughtful. They are really enjoying their "new" rooms, and so am I!
